Friday, April 4, 2025 – Mersiv

Alright, Tony Price back in the Red Rocks zone! Friday, April 4th, and we were back to the bass with Mersiv. Now, my son was particularly hyped for this one, so you know your old man had to be there to see what all the fuss was about.

The weather was classic Colorado spring – a little unpredictable. Started out pretty mild, but there was a definite chill in the air as the night went on. Good thing I brought my trusty flannel! You gotta be prepared for anything at Red Rocks.

Now, Mersiv. This young fella is definitely making some waves in the electronic music scene, and after seeing him live, I can understand why. It was a full-on sonic experience. The bass was deep, the kind that rattles your bones and makes your chest vibrate. It wasn't just loud; it was textured, if that makes sense. Like you could feel all the different layers and frequencies.

The energy of the crowd was absolutely electric. It was a sea of people moving in unison, completely lost in the music. Lots of head-banging, lots of hands in the air, the kind of enthusiastic vibe that's just infectious. You couldn't help but get caught up in it. Even I found myself doing a little more than just tapping my foot – much to my son's amusement, I'm sure.

Mersiv's music had this interesting blend of heavy bass and these almost ethereal, melodic elements. It wasn't just pure, unadulterated noise; there was a definite artistry to it. He built up these incredible soundscapes and then BAM! The bass would drop, and the whole place would erupt. It was a real rollercoaster of sound.

The light show was also pretty intense. Lots of strobes and lasers cutting through the night, perfectly synced with the music. It added a whole other dimension to the experience, making it feel like a full sensory assault in the best possible way.

Now, if I had to put on my dad hat and offer a little bit of perspective… well, it was definitely LOUD. Like, bring-your-good-earplugs loud. And maybe some of the more intricate sound design might have been lost on someone like me who's not as deep into this genre. But the overall energy and the sheer intensity of the performance were undeniable.

Overall, Mersiv at Red Rocks was a high-octane, bass-fueled journey. It was the kind of show that leaves you buzzing long after the last note fades. My son was right – it was a real experience. It's great to see young artists pushing the boundaries of sound and creating this kind of immersive environment for their fans. Tony Price, signing off – my ears might need a little recovery time, but my appreciation for a good bass drop has definitely grown!
