Alright, Tony Price here, still buzzing (figuratively speaking, of course!) from what sounded like an absolutely epic Tuesday night at Red Rocks – May 13th, 2025, with the one and only Skrillex! This wasn't just any show; this was a five-hour marathon set, and folks were pretty hyped about it.

The weather for mid-May in Colorado was probably pretty decent – a cool, clear night, which is exactly what you want for a long outdoor electronic music experience. People were probably bundled up, but the energy of the crowd would have kept everyone warm.

Skrillex, or Sonny Moore as some know him, is a legend in the electronic music world, and he truly delivered a deep dive into his diverse sound. Reviews are in, and it seems this wasn't just a banger-after-banger fest, but a true journey. He reportedly played a wide variety of tracks, going back through his discography, and even showcasing new material from his recently released album, FCK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3*. People were geeked to hear the new stuff live, like "FUS" played almost from beginning to end.

The crowd was, as expected, a massive and passionate force. People were lining up hours in advance – I heard some folks were there as early as 8 AM just to get a good spot and a chance at limited merch! That's dedication! Once inside, the community vibe was amazing, with people making friends just standing in line. And when the music hit, it was a sea of dancing and pure energy.

The production was definitely a highlight. The lights and disco ball during certain moments were described as "unreal." Skrillex is known for pushing boundaries with his visuals, and while some folks felt he could have used more lasers, the overall light and production were still solid. The moments where songs interacted with the crowd's wristbands sounded pretty cool too.

Now, if I have to put on my "Tony's Balanced View" hat, there were a few common talking points that came up. Some attendees, particularly those who were there for his 2023 Red Rocks show, felt that the 2025 performance was a bit inconsistent in terms of sound quality at times, with some muddy spots and echoes, especially in the rear. There was also some mixed feedback about the first two hours of the set, which apparently leaned more into house and techno, with some hoping for more high-energy "bangers" throughout the full five hours. Some felt it was a bit "lazy" to play a new album straight through, even if they were hyped for it.

Logistically, there were also some complaints about entry and the venue being oversold, causing long lines and some people missing the first hour of the show. And a curious point about water availability, though it sounds like they did have it, it just sold out.

However, the overwhelming sentiment from many was that it was an amazing show, with some calling it the best electronic music set they'd ever seen. People were dancing for five hours straight! The sheer length of the set, the journey through his sound, and the incredible atmosphere of Red Rocks made it truly memorable for most. The fact that he's known for even setting up 360-degree sets and moving around the venue (though not in this specific recording I heard about) just adds to the unique experience he tries to create.

Overall, Skrillex at Red Rocks on May 13th, 2025, was undoubtedly a monumental event. Despite some minor hiccups with sound and logistics, the majority of the crowd had an absolutely insane time, cementing his legendary status at that iconic venue. It was a long night, a loud night, and for many, a truly unforgettable night. Tony Price, signing off – definitely need a power nap after just thinking about that five-hour set!
